Main diagnosed chronic conditions in 60+ year olds in Mexico 2021, by gender
As of 2021, the main diagnosed chronic condition by women and men aged 60 years and older in Mexico was hypertension. That year, an estimated 55 percent of women were given a hypertension diagnosis, while 38.9 percent of the men suffered from the same condition. Hypertension was followed by diabetes as the second main diagnosed condition in both women and men. Arthritis, lung disease, heart attack, embolism and cancer were also diagnosed to a lesser extent. Hypertension was also the most diagnosed chronic condition for people between the ages of 53 an 59 in the Latin American country.
