In Belgium, the prevalence of osteoporosis was especially higher in women than in men. In 2018, for instance, 5.7 percent of women suffered from this condition for 0.8 percent of men. According to the figures, the prevalence of osteoporosis increased from 1997 to 2008, before decreasing in the last decade.
