Prevalence of blood pressure measuring in Belgium, by region 2018
In 2018, over 90 percent of the Belgian population, aged 15 years and older, had their blood pressure measured in the last five years. The measure of blood pressure, alongside with cholesterol and blood sugar controls, allows the early detection of cardiovascular risks and diabetes. From a regional perspective, the blood pressure monitoring seemed to be higher in Flanders than in Wallonia. However, in 2018, the lowest share of Belgians who had their blood pressure checked in the last five years was the lowest in the Brussels-Capital Region.
