Crude cancer incidence rate in South Korea 1999-2021, by gender
In 2021, men in South Korea had a crude incidence rate of 561.7 cases of cancer per 100,000 inhabitants. Cancer cases among men have historically been higher than among women, who recorded a crude rate of 519.7 cases that year. The crude incidence rate has more than doubled since 1999. Cancerous neoplasms are the leading cause of death in South Korea, particularly in people 40 years and older.
