Namibia: wildlife crime by category 2022

In 2022, the majority of wildlife crime cases in Namibia belonged to the meat-poaching category, with 200 registered. This category consists of antelopes, buffalo, giraffes, warthogs, and zebras. High-value species amounted to 175 cases, with rhinoceroses (black and white) being the primary target of this category. Over the period observed, wildlife poaching in the country has generally experienced an increase.
