Number of burglary offences in England and Wales 2002-2019

In 2018/19 there were over 422 thousand burglaries in England and Wales, a decline of approximately 15 thousand when compared with the previous reporting year. Between 2002/03 and 2018/19, there has been a clear trend of declining burglary offences, with the peak in 2002/03 at over 890 thousand offences which had more than halved by 2013/14.
