Highest-grossing movie franchises and series in the U.S. & Canada 2022
As of January 2023, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or MCU) was the highest-grossing movie franchise at the so-called North American box office (i.e., the United States and Canada) with a revenue of over 11.1 billion U.S. dollars. The series encompasses other franchises, including three that made it to the top 10: Spider-Man (which grossed 3.3 billion dollars at the box office), Avengers (2.6 billion dollars), and X-Men (2.5 billion dollars). The MCU was also the highest-grossing film franchise worldwide.
