Oil production in OECD countries amounted to 31.3 million barrels per day in 2023, up from some 29.6 million barrels daily in the previous year. Between 1998 and 2023, figures increased by nearly nine million barrels per day, peaking in the latter year.

Figures include crude oil, shale oil, oil sands, condensates and NGLs. Liquid fuels from other sources such as biofuels and synthetic derivatives of coal and natural gas are excluded, as well as oil shales/kerogen extracted in solid form.
