Oil consumption in Japan 1990-2021
Japan consumed 151.7 million metric tons of oil in 2021. This represented an increase of nearly two percent in comparison to the previous year, when the East Asian country recorded its lowest figure since 1990. During the period under consideration, figures decreased by 96.3 million metric tons. The country is ranked amongst the world's largest primary energy consumers.
