England: A level results 2001-2019, by grade

In 2018/19 just over a quarter of all students sitting A-Levels achieved a 'B' grade making it the most common grade awarded in that academic year, with just under a quarter of students achieving a 'C' grade. Only 7.8 percent of A-Level entries were awarded an 'A*' grade, the highest grade available at A-Level.
