About This Statistic
This statistic shows the educational attainment distribution of the population 25 years and older in California in 2016. In 2016, about 20.6 percent of the Americans, aged over 25 years, held a Bachelor's degree. In 2015-2016, California had the highest number of higher education institutions of any U.S. state, with 448 such institutions. In this regard California was followed by New York and Texas with 304 and 272 higher education institutions respectively.
