This statistic shows the educational attainment distribution of the population 25 years and older in California in 2019. In 2019, about 21.9 percent of Californian residents aged over 25 years held a Bachelor's degree.

In the academic year of 2018-2019, California had the highest number of higher education institutions of any U.S. state, with 420 such institutions. In this regard California was followed by New York and Texas with 295 and 242 higher education institutions respectively.
