Time spent waiting for appointment to see preferred doctor after ACA enrollment 2014
This statistic displays the distribution of time spent waiting to get a first appointment with preferred doctors among newly insured United States adults, as of June 2014. Some 26 percent of newly insured adults required 8 to 14 days to get a first appointment with their preferred doctors, after they enrolled via the (ACA) health insurance marketplace. After the first enrollment period of the Affordable Care Act between October 2013 until March 2014, the share of uninsured working-age adults decreased dramatically. During this time, approximately 14 million citizens chose a private insurance or enrolled in Medicaid.
