This statistic is based on a survey conducted in January 2018 and January 2020. It displays the share of U.S. adults and their willingness to share personal health information for the purpose of research and health care. As of 2020,some 73 percent were willing to share their personal data so that health care providers can improve patient care. New legislation has been announced that would help improve the state of health care and medical research, especially as citizens believe that research is important for development of the economy.
