Total private equity divestments in France 2007-2020
The total amount of private equity divestments (exits) for companies based in France fluctuated from 2007 to the first semester of 2020. Private equity is the OTC provision of equity capital through private or institutional investments with the participation of companies in another company for a limited time in order to generate financial benefits. Total divestments peaked in 2014, reaching a value of over 11 billion euros. As of the first semester of 2020, this value had fallen significantly, amounting to approximately 2.6 billion euros.
