This statistic displays the percentage of animal and plant species that are most at risk of extinction due to climate change as of 2015. During this year, about 8.8 percent of invertebrates are at risk of extinction due to climate change. Under current targets of limiting global temperature rise to 2 degree Celsius above pre-industrial temperatures, we can expect a loss of 5 percent of species.
