Duration of trips taken by residents of France 2015-2020, by destination type
The length of trips taken by residents of France tended to be a function of the destination over the past few years. Trips were longer abroad than domestic ones. While trips abroad had an average length of 7.97 days in 2020, domestic trip duration was 5.22 days in France in the same year. Since 2015, trip duration experienced overall a downward trend. However, the duration of domestic travel in France increased again in 2020 under the influence of travel restrictions to foreign countries during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
