Revenue of the accommodation industry in Italy decreased significantly in 2020 over the previous year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. While this industry's revenue amounted to over 27 billion euros in 2019, it declined to roughly 13 billion euros in 2020. That year, hotels and similar accommodation establishments represented the most profitable segment, with revenue of nearly 9.7 billion euros.
