Note: This report reflects changes in the medical market resulting from legislation enacted in 2015 (2E2SHB-2136). This law provides a sales tax exemption for medical marijuana sold between July 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016 if certain conditions are met. After June 30, 2016 medical marijuana can only be legally sold by licensed marijuana retailers having medical marijuana endorsements, as regulated by the State Liquor and Cannabis Board. As a result of this legislation, sales taxes reported by sellers of medical marijuana are expected to decline over the course of the year.
