India: export trends in the automobile industry by type 2023

At the end of the fiscal year 2023, more than 4.6 million two wheelers were exported from India. After a long period of two-digit growth figures, this is a minor increase compared to the previous year in financial year 2022. Passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, quadricycles and three wheelers experienced a decline in exports. The major reason for a decline in exports appears to be the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and declining demands especially on the automotive market.
