This statistic shows the annual expenditure on trips taken for holiday, leisure or recreation purposes by residents in Germany from 2012 to 2016. The data is split by outbound and domestic trips. Residents in Germany spent a total of around 20.14 billion euros on domestic holiday trips and 53.7 billion euros on outbound holiday trips in 2016. Overall spending on domestic travel decreased that year, while overall outbound travel presented an increase.
