This statistic shows the renewable energy shares (RES) for different areas in the European Union (EU) from 2014 to 2016, in percentage. It shows that 29.6 percent of the gross final energy consumption for electricity was covered by renewable energy in 2016. This is up from 28.8 percent the previous year.
