This statistic shows the total fuel production in the European Union in 2018, by type of fuel, in million metric tons of oil equivalent (Mtoe). It shows that the production of renewable fuels was the highest fuel type with approximately 234 million metric tons of oil equivalent produced in 2018. Ranked second was nuclear energy, with roughly 210 million Mtoes.
