Net capacity of solar PV installed in the European Union (EU-28) 2017-2018

The 28 European Union members added 7.6 gigawatts worth of solar photovoltaic capacity in 2018. This was an increase of approximately 34 percent compared to the output added the previous year, whereas overall cumulative solar photovoltaic capacity reached 114.5 gigawatts. In that same year, Germany was the country with the highest electricity production from solar power among all EU-28, generating 46,164 gigawatts hour.
