Length of bicycle lanes in South Korea 2009-2018

In 2018, South Korea had around 3,200 kilometers of bicycle lanes, built exclusively for bikers, over twice as many kilometers as there were ten years ago. Bicycle lanes, as defined by Korean law, excludes sidewalks which can be used by both pedestrians and bikers, bicycle-only sections of roads, and roads shared by bicycles and automobiles. A 2014 revision of what bicycle roads are legally resulted in the reclassification of certain bicycle lanes and roads.
