In 2022, the estimated number of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) cyber attacks in Italy was of approximately 1,800. This represents a decrease from the 2,050 attacks registered in 2021. In 2019 and 2020, the country registered the peak of DDoS attacks, with over 15,000 cyber attacks reported.
