In 2018, Germany was with approximately 2.14 million summer holidays and 1.57 winter holidays the most popular destinations for a holiday in both the summer and winter period. France was the second most visited destination with just over 1.5 million summer holidays and nearly 1.13 million holidays in the winter period.
