Capacity of global nuclear reactor final closures 2019

There were 13 nuclear reactors shut down globally in 2019. From these 13 reactors, five reactors were located in Japan, including Fukushima Daini 1, 2, 3 and 4, each with 1,067 megawatt electrical worth of net capacity. These four reactors composed Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Plant, which was decommissioned as the four reactors were automatically shut down after an earthquake and tsunami hit the facility in 2011 and were not operating ever since.

Germany, Taiwan and South Korea reactors were likely shut down due to each country's policies to move towards renewable sources.
