Retail Coverage: IRI InfoScan retail universe covers all multiple and independent pharmacies (including Boots, Superdrug, Wilkinson, Lloydspharmacy etc) and most supermarket and grocery outlets in Great Britain including grocery symbol groups and independents. Major exclusions: wider impulse sectors; sales in Northern Ireland; sales through health food stores, mail order, internet-only vendors (eg Amazon), discount stores (eg, Aldi,Lidl, Poundland).

Data is aggregated census EPOS for multiple retailers with sampled EPOS for independents and symbols. Retail sales value is what is actually paid by the consumer including VAT and net of any promotion. Medicine sales are Over-the-counter only and do not include semi-ethical sales or dispensed prescription sales of either P or GSL licensed products.
