In the United States, drug discovery companies in the life sciences industry received the highest total value of venture capital (VC) investments in 2022. VC investment in drug discovery companies amounted to over 16 billion U.S. dollars. This was followed by biotechnology companies, which received a total of approximately 10.3 billion U.S. dollars in VC investment. The top three is completed by therapeutic devices companies, which received VC investment that amounted to just over 2.2 billion U.S. dollars
