Share of renewable power generation in Europe 2016-2030, by type This statistic displays the share of power generation from new renewables in Europe in relation to other sources of power, from 2016 to 2030. It shows that in 2016, nuclear power had the highest share of power generation. Onshore wind had a share of 8 percent, and offshore only 1 percent. However, projections for 2030 show nuclear and coal power generation will be decreased, and onshore power generation will be almost twice as much as in 2016. Overall, new renewables had a share of 24 percent in 2017. This is estimated to increase to 35 percent by 2030.
