Ecuador: poverty headcount ratio at 3.20 U.S. dollars a day 2005-2017 The poverty rate in Ecuador has been decreasing lately. In 2017, approximately 8.7 percent of the Ecuadorian population was living on less than 3.20 U.S. dollars per day, down from 25.7 percent in 2005.
Still, social inequality remains a challenge in Ecuador and Latin America as a whole.
