Latin America & Caribbean: gender wage equality index 2020, by country

In 2020, Venezuela and Mexico had the highest score of gender wage equality among the Latin American countries, with an index of 0.72. El Salvador scored 0.47 points, which shows a gender wage inequality of 53 percent (women in El Salvador were 49 percent less likely than men to receive an equal wage for similar work). This index is based on a survey carried out to find out about people's perceptions on wage equality in their respective countries.
