It is considered to be a very important indicator of the economic strength of a country and a positive change is an indicator of economic growth. The ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region in Asia comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. In 2016, GDP per capita in Brunei amounted to around 27,318.05 U.S. dollars.
