Canadian children and youth asthma hospitalization rate by income and age 2013-2016

This graph shows the average asthma hospitalization rate among children and adolescents in Canada from 2013/2014 to 2015/2016, by neighborhood income quintile and age group. During the given period, the rate of asthma hospitalization among children aged 0-9 years, living in the neighborhoods with the lowest quintile of income, was 170 per 100,000 (age-standardized) while the rate for children living in neighborhoods with the highest income stood at only 113 per 100 thousand.
