In 2017, approximately 2,928 boys and 2,525 girls below the age of 15, had to be admitted to hospitals across Peru due to skin and subcutaneous tissue diseases. The age group that followed with the majority of the cases were people over the age of 50, with 2,018 men and 1,994 women hospitalized due to the same health-related issues.
