Overall, the volume of active SIM cards in Belgium increased steadily over the nine year period from 2012 to 2021. As of 2021, the majority of active SIM cards were postpaid MNO cards, whereas light MNVO cards accounted for the smallest share of active SIM cards in Belgium. In 2021, there were over 6.3 million active postpaid MNO cards.
