The volume of active postpaid SIM cards in Belgium increased steadily between 2012 and 2021, while the volume of active prepaid SIM cards declined over the same period. At the beginning of the nine year period, there were roughly 410 thousand more active postpaid than prepaid SIM cards in circulation. In 2018, there were roughly five times as much active postpaid SIM cards as prepaid cards.
