
Cases of bacteremia caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria in Italy 2014-2021
The number of bacteremia cases caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria in Italy increased overall considerably between 2014 and 2021. According to the data, in fact, in 2014 around 1.5 thousand of such cases were registered, while in 2021 almost 2.2 thousand individuals reported to suffer from infections caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria. In 2019, almost 2.5 thousand cases were registered, the highest figure in the period under consideration. This statistic displays the number of bacteremia cases caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria in Italy from 2014 to 2021.
