This statistic displays the number of marriages (in 1,000s) of opposite-sex couples in England and Wales in 2016, by age group and gender. Women under the age of 30 were more likely to get married than men, but in all the age groups over the age of 30, there were more men who married than women. There were over 71 thousand women aged between 25 and 29 who were married in this year, the most of any demographic.
