Brazil: adolescent fertility rates 2021, by region and age group
More than 346,000 live births from women and girls younger than 20 were registered in Brazil in 2021. The Northeast was the region with the highest number of live births carried out by teenage girls, exceeding 114,000 in the age range from 15 to 19, and adding up to 6,154 in the case of girls younger than 15. In total, more than 14,000 pregnancies were carried to term by girls who had not reached the age of 15 at the moment of birth.
