Market share of leading insurance groups in Italy 2018, by market share

In 2018, Generali Group was the leading insurance company in Italy with a market share of 16.8 percent in terms of direct premiums. Second in the ranking came Poste Italiane with a market share of 11.7 percent, followed by Allianz (9.9 percent). Intesa San Paolo fell into fourth place with a market share of 9.8 percent in terms of total (life and non-life) direct premiums.
