Leading cruise ports in Italy 2019-2022, by passenger traffic
The number of cruise passenger movements at Italian ports rose sharply in 2022 over the previous year, after falling dramatically with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, Civitavecchia - a municipality in the metropolitan city of Rome - was the Italian port recording the highest cruise passenger traffic in 2022, with around 2.2 million cruise passenger movements. While this figure shows a significant increase from 2021, it remained below pre-pandemic levels.
