UK National Living Wage Compared to Minimum Wages Across Europe
On April 1 2016 the UK has introduced a new minimum wage for all workers over 25 years of age. The so-called national living wage amounts to £7.20 an hour. This adds up to the equivalent of close to £15,000 a year if you work a 40-hour week. The UK is in fourth place compared to other European countries when it comes to minimum wages. Only in Luxemburg, France and the Netherlands you will be paid more. The lowest hourly salaries are paid in eastern Europe.
