Consumers of domestic beer in the U.S. 2018, by age

In 2018, more than 55% of the American respondents between the age of 30 to 49 years stated that they drink domestic beer while the share of consumers at the age of 18 to 29 amounted to roughly 44%.

Global Beer Production
Beer is one of the most popular alcoholic beverages worldwide. In 2018, the global beer production amounted close to 2 billion hectoliters, 183 million barrels of which were produced in the U.S. In fact, the United States is the second biggest producer of beer in the world with China ranking first.

Domestic Beer Consumption in America
In 2019, almost 129 billion barrels of domestic beer were sold in the U.S. This figure is almost four times bigger than that of the imported beer sales in the States in the same time period. Among the leading domestic beer brands in the Unites States, Bud Light, Coors Light and Miller Lite claim the top positions with regard to their market shares.
