The Smart Home Connectivity displays pure IoT revenues from major device categories of Smart Home applications. These categories include control and connectivity devices (hubs and smart speakers), security equipment (security cameras and smoke detectors), and smart appliances (large and small household appliances). Only IoT connectivity revenues are taken into account, this includes revenues through the usage of wireless (e.g. cellular, LPWAN) or wired networks.
The term Internet of Things (IoT) describes a network of physical or virtual devices that are able to communicate autonomously with each other using the Internet Protocol (IP).
Market values represent pure IoT revenues paid to primary vendors at manufacturer price level either directly or through distribution channels (excluding VAT). Reported market revenues include spending by consumers (B2C), enterprises (B2B) as well as governments (B2G). Revenues are allocated to the country where the money is spent.
