Single-family housing starts in Canada 2014-2020

Canada's single-family housing starts in November 2020 had increased by 700 units year-on-year, an increase of roughly 17 percent. This follows after severe drops in construction starts in early 2020, when government measures were implemented due to COVID-19. In April 2020, for instance, new single-family residential construction declined by 15 percent y-o-y. New home construction in Canada overall grew by over four percent between 2020 and 2019, with around 9,000 more residential units.
