Passenger traffic in Russia 2010-2018, by transport type

Between 2010 and 2018, the annual passenger traffic in the Russian underground increased from eight to nine million journeys on working days. While the underground was the most popular type of transportation, the second most used transport was the ground public transport, which included trams, trolleybuses, and buses, with 7.4 passenger journeys in 2018. There were 1.9 million suburbal train journeys recorded in 2018.
