Car owners in India 2019
In a country where vehicle ownership was dominated by two and three-wheelers, around 55 percent of the respondents of a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight across India said that they owned a car, as opposed to approximately 45 percent of respondents who don't own one as of June 2019. Car ownership stood at 30 vehicles for every thousand Indians at the end of 2018, a small figure for a population of over 1.3 billion.
