Zinc mine production in Peru 2010-2021
Peru's zinc mine production amounted to 1.5 million metric tons in 2021, up from 1.3 million tons in the previous year. In 2020, despite a strong production in the first two months, zinc production in the country decreased by over 86 percent in April, when compared to the same month in 2019. This decrease in zinc production was a result of quarantine measures in the face of COVID-19, leading the majority of mining companies to suspend operations, maintaing only critical activities.
