Latin America: food insecurity prevalence 2018

A total of 55 million citizens in Latin America suffered from severe food insecurity in 2018, which represents more than nine percent of the region's population. If we include the population who face moderate food insecurity, the number rises up to 188 million. The prevalence of undernourishment in Latin America and the Caribbean has slightly increased since 2015.
